Procountor may display certain error messages in different error situations. This page describes possible error messages and situations when they may appear. If you get repeated error messages, we recommend contacting our customer service.
Possible error messages
Procountor may display the following error messages:
- Error in server
- Error in forming network connection
- Error while saving
- Your session is expiring
- Page has expired!
Error in server
Sometimes Procountor may display the following error message.
This is usually a temporary error. In cases like this, it is recommended to wait a moment and then retry.
If the error message recurs, try closing the Procountor session and browser and then restarting them.
If that does not help, contact customer service (contact form).
The more you can tell us about the situation, the better we can resolve the problem.
The minimum information would be the page and activity that were involved when the error occurred (for example, pressed Save button Business partners > Customer's basic info page). The information on the path to the point of problem, you can find it n the upper panel.
In error situations, the maintenance is often interested in the system that you used. That information can be found in Procountor’s About the program page in Information from customer's system.
The firewall or proxy may cause breaks in the network traffic or block it totally in certain settings. This also causes an error message to the server. Then it is advisable to check that the firewall and proxy allow connection requests to Procountor server’s IP address 89.250.52.21 either completely at the minimum to ports 443 (encrypted connection) and 80 (normal web page) from all ports in the customer’s computer. If A proxy is used, you can go to Internet Explorer and set *.procountor.com as an exception in Tools/Internet options/LAN settings/Advanced/Exceptions.
Error in forming network connection
If there are severe errors in the network connection, Procountor issues that error message.
You can run a network connection test by clicking the button Test network connection in the About the program page. In broadband connections, 20-50 ms is a normal average time without database connection. With database connection 50-100 ms is a normal average time. If the measured values differ very much from these, it is worth testing a couple of times to verify the result.
Error while saving
If the firewall or proxy blocks the necessary network traffic, you may get an error message “Error while saving” when you save an invoice. Then it is advisable to check that the firewall and proxy allow connection requests to Procountor server’s IP address 89.250.52.21 either completely at the minimum to ports 443 (encrypted connection) and 80 (normal web page) from all ports in the customer’s computer.
Your session will expire
If your Procountor session is idle for an hour, it will be automatically closed. The user is warned before closing. Database transactions are counted as use of the software, so saving or retrieving information refreshes the session. If you enter information for an extended period of time without saving it in between, the session may expire.
It is possible to define a user-specific expiry time. Contact Procountor customer service (contact form) if you want to change your session’s expiry time.
Page has expired!
If your Procountor session is idle for an hour, it will be automatically closed. The user is warned before closing.
When the session has expired you have to log out, close the browser and restart the browser and a new session.
It is possible to define a user-specific expiry time. Contact Procountor customer service (contact form) if you want to change your session’s expiry time.
If the customer’s IP address changes during the session, a message stating session expiry is shown. For security reasons, changing the IP address during the session is not allowed. Therefore, you must ensure that the firewall or proxy server does not change the customer’s IP address shown to the Procountor server during the session.
