Banking code is an identifier, which helps with identifying the payments, when transferring the payments from Procountor to banks. Banking code is company specific and it must be entered to Procountor in order to make payments.
Banking code must be entered to Procountor in Management > Company info > Bank account information.
Banking code is created for a company by a bank, and there are some bank specific differences when creating a banking code. Also, the term used about banking code varies with banks and it can be called, for example, customer ID or business ID.
- For OP-Pohjola Group banks (the customer ID), the banking code is usually the 9-digit business ID including any zeroes at the beginning but without the hyphen. For OP bank accounts 9 digits is the maximum amount of digita in banking codes in Procountor.
- For Nordea (the invoice payment service ID) the banking code is in old contracts the 9-digit business ID including any zeroes at the beginning but without the hyphen. The new banking codes (starting 6.5.2016) are 7 + business ID (8 digits without the hyphen).
- For Aktia, Säästöpankki, POP Banks and Handelsbanken the banking code is usually the 9-digit business ID including any zeroes at the beginning but without the hyphen.
- For Danske Bank (usually the business ID), the banking code is almost always the 9-digit business ID including the zeroes at the beginning but without the hyphen.
- For S-Bank, Ålandsbanken and DNB, the banking code is usually the 8-digit business ID including the zeroes at the beginning but without the hyphen.
- For SEB, the banking code is usually 10-digit code with two zeroes at the beginning (usually not business ID).
The maximum banking code length is 10 digits. In Bank Account information view the zeroes at the beginning of the banking code cannot be saved, but Procountor will automatically add the needed number of zeroes to every payment to be transferred.
If the company is new and does not yet have a business ID when doing the bank connection authorizations, the bank will create the banking code based on something else than the company’s business ID. If the company gets the business ID after it already has a banking code, the banking code cannot be changed in accordance with the business ID, without consulting the bank.
If there is uncertainty with the banking code that should be used with payments (and saved to Procountor), the bank should be consulted.
